Are you planning a family weekend on Lake Garda, and would like some ideas for original experiences? You are in the right place, because here we have collected some local tips, perfect for those with children in tow, of course!
Let’s start with amusement parks, a real ‘must’ for those heading to Lake Garda with their family. We will not tell you about well-known parks like Gardaland, Movieland or Caneva Acqua Park – rather, we’d like to share our favourite parks where you can get in touch with the wonderful nature that surrounds us, as well as testing the desire for adrenaline of your little ones!
A great place to start is Elias Adventure Park, located in Dro, about 10 kilometers from Lake Garda. It’s an adventure park where children can have fun travelling along routes suspended between trees, testing their balance and jumping with the aid of ropes! The park is a real gym with routes for everyone… even for Mum and Dad! The other park we wish to suggest is Adventure Archery Park, also in the Dro area. Here you can dress up as an archer, and try to hunt with a bow and arrow, just like our ancestors did!
For several years, Residence Centro Vela has had the pleasure of hosting the greatest sailing champions and teams that compete on the waters of Lake Garda every year.
Adults and children can get to know this sport, one of the most popular on Lake Garda, or try other, more unusual water activities like windsurfing, canoeing, SUP or more, with courses for all levels. Do you want to try something truly alternative? Throw yourself into a Family Canyoning adventure, where adrenaline is guaranteed!
For information, feel free to ask our team. Here you can discover the services dedicated to those who practice water sports!
In Garda Trentino, those who love hiking will be truly spoilt – you can choose between dozens of excursions for everyone, including those who want easy, stroller-proof trails!
Let’s start with the lakefront path from Torbole to Riva del Garda, then continue to the Bastione (the fortress overlooking Riva) through the convenient paved road or with the new panoramic lift. There are also plenty of short walks, suitable for children, like the magnificent Strada del Ponale, Monte Brione – right next to the Residence Centro Vela – or the Marmitte dei Giganti, then again the hair-rising stairways overlooking the lake along the Busatte-Tempesta path. And this is not all… real hikers will love the Endrizzi-Albola waterfall path, a true gem! Find out more by reading the post with the 10 trekking itineraries not to be missed on Lake Garda.
Do your little ones love climbing? Good! Here in Garda Trentino we have some of the best crags in the world, with many opportunities to learn how to take your first ‘steps’ on the rock walls. Alternatively, try the Family Via Ferrata, designed for the whole family, with magnificent walls to climb together with certified Alpine Guides, or the Fun Climb, to learn climbing with a smile. With these “rock experiences”, you will take home unforgettable memories of your holidays!
Mountain biking is another of the most practiced sports here in the northern part of Lake Garda, but we would like to tell you about discovering our territory in two other ways – by scooter, available for free at reception, or by skateboard! If you are not familiar and want to take a few lessons, you can take advantage of the large “Skate Park” in Riva del Garda, a space designed specifically to ‘fly’ on your board.
There are still many more ways to have fun with your family: come and have a look at our blog, or ask the Centro Vela Team directly for personalized advice!
