Refuges on Mount Baldo

Mount Baldo, known as the “Garden of Europe”, offers not only breathtaking landscapes and unique biodiversity, but also a wide range of cosy huts where you can savour local cuisine and experience mountain hospitality. Whether you are an experienced hiker or a lover of leisurely walks, Baldo’s refuges are unmissable stops to discover the authenticity of this area. 

 

Rifugio Mondini – Ex Baito Turri 

 

At 1,550 metres above sea level in the locality of Ortigaretta, in the municipality of San Zeno di Montagna, this refuge was renovated and reopened in July 2023. It offers a large panoramic terrace overlooking the lake, making it one of the best refuges with a view of Lake Garda, ideal for breakfasts, aperitifs and open-air lunches. Easily accessible on foot, by mountain bike, or via the newly reopened Prada – Costabella chairlift. 

 

Rifugio Fiori del Baldo

 

Always in the municipality of San Zeno di Montagna, at 1,850 metres above sea level, the Rifugio Fiori del Baldo is located near the arrival of the Prada – Costabella chairlift. It offers a 360° panoramic view of the Monte Baldo chain and features an indoor hall and a spacious outdoor terrace. Open from late spring to early autumn, it offers both bar and restaurant services, welcoming visitors with local flavours and mountain charm. 

 

Rifugio Chierego

 

Located in Costabella, in the municipality of Brenzone sul Garda, at 1,911 metres above sea level, the Rifugio Chierego is situated in one of the most suggestive panoramic spots. Just a 20-minute walk from the upper station of the Prada – Costabella chairlift, this welcoming hut offers bar and restaurant services, as well as overnight accommodation. 

 

Rifugio Telegrafo

 

The summit hut is located on Monte Baldo, in the municipality of Brenzone sul Garda, a short distance from Cima Telegrafo at 2,147 m above sea level, in a dominant position overlooking Lake Garda. Open daily from May to October, it offers bar and restaurant service, along with accommodation in cosy rooms for 2 to 4 guests or in shared dormitories for 8 or more. Rifugio Telegrafo can be reached via several paths, but only on foot. 

 

Rifugio Monte Baldo

 

In the suggestive basin of Madonna della Neve, at 1,120 m above sea level, in the Trentino municipality of Avio, the Rifugio Monte Baldo is an alpine structure immersed in the greenery of the Monte Baldo Natural Park. Built in 1924 and later renovated, it is characterised by a familiar and warm atmosphere, with a cuisine that emphasises Trentino traditions. It has 20 cosy rooms and is the perfect base for a wide range of activities in the surrounding area: from trekking to hiking, from mountain biking to motorbike tours, to discovering castles, museums and sanctuaries. It is easily accessible both on foot and by car, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and adventure.
